Printing to a text file and widening the output of the PDF

Hi,

I have two questions for you.

1. I have been able to convert a print job to PDF using the Distiller option. However, the reports get printed on a Letter paper format when I specifically defined the printer properties as Legal landscape. How can change my configurations to make it work in that format? The Print Test Page does the covnersion correctly.

2. How can I convert the print file being sent over to a .txt, in the same way as the PDF is created through Distiller? When I try it, it gives me the printer ps information is a text file when all I want is the content of the document.

You can set the defaults for the printer in the printing preferences.

Open the Printers folder and right click on the virtual printer, select printer properties and you can specify the orientation and paper size.

We don't have a facility to convert to a txt file however there are a few pdf to txt filters available which you could call through the command line interface. Just google PDF to TXT.
