open door error

I created a virtual port under print distributor and connected three Star tsp100 thermal printers to broadcast. The virtual port says there is an open door so all my printing jobs are getting queue. Sometimes it says its ready instead of an open door error but my jobs still get queued. These are brand new printers and the doors are closed, they work on there own without print distributor.

Nick,

Open the printers folder in Windows, right click on the virtual printer and select properties.

Go to the ports tab and turn off the option for bidirectional communication.

I already tried that, it doesnt work, and i need that support so the resturtant servers know when the printers run out of paper. This is for a very busy resturtant, it would be a nightmare if orders came in and no one knew the the printers were out of paper. My last post on here is a little more detailed in explaining my problem.

Nick,

Can you let us know what edition of Windows you are running and I will test the driver here.

I have the same problem with 2 star TSP100 receipt printers. Can someone tell me is this was fixed or what are the procedures to get it working.

After you have changed the bidirectional setting restart the Spooler service, you can do this from Start->Settings->Control Panel->Administrative Tools->Services.
